Jenny Lisk

Jenny Lisk is an award-winning author, podcast host, and publishing consultant who specializes in working with authors of memoirs, business books, and other nonfiction books.

Jenny spent the first two decades of her career leading transformation projects on five continents for IBM. Then, at the age of forty-three, she found herself a widowed parent of nine- and eleven-year-olds. She found that resources for widowed parents were few and far between.

In order to help as many widowed parents as possible, Jenny created and produced the Widowed Parent Podcast, and then published her first book, the multi-award-winning memoir Future Widow. Her second nonfiction book, Widowed Parents Unite, came out a couple years later.

Jenny never expected to be working with either widowed parents or authors. Even as she continued writing and speaking on grief-related topics, she began working with forward-thinking authors to help them publish, launch, and market their own books.

At once obsessed with big-picture strategy and hyper-focused on details, Jenny loves working with authors on all aspects of publishing and marketing, with a specialty in platform development for authors seeking to make a difference in the world.

Jenny is a certified PMI Project Management Professional and a certified Professional Scrum Master (Levels 1 & 2). She holds an MBA from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and spent twenty years in project management at a large technology company. She is a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association, the Nonfiction Authors Association, and the Alliance of Independent Authors.
