My Interview on the Book Marketing Action Podcast

I'm thrilled to share the interview I did with Becky Robinson of Weaving Influence on the most recent episode of her show, the Book Marketing Action Podcast.

I've done a lot of podcast interviews about my books and my story with kind hosts on their amazing shows. We generally dive deep on grief and widowed parenting topics.

This one is a little different.

We talk about my story, of course — but, for the first time, we talk about so much more. Topics that are relevant for nonfiction and memoir authors.

I listened to the episode as soon as it dropped, and I'm super excited for you to hear us talking about:

  • How John Truby's book helped me figure out my memoir story arc

  • Why a memoir needs a story arc in the first place

  • Reusing my blog posts from the time my husband was sick as the backbone of my memoir — and why the posts alone were not enough to make it a compelling book

  • How Julie Lythcott-Haims' idea that "memoir is an act of service" kept me going

  • How binging Brené Brown's audiobook saved me when the 'vulnerability' of writing a memoir was feeling too, well...vulnerable

  • And maybe most excitingly (for me), I share for the first time how I'm taking an evergreen-first approach to my email list

We had such a great discussion, and I can't wait for you to listen. This one isn't just for those interested in grief or widowed parenting.

It's for any (nonfiction) authors. And future authors.

I'd love to know what you think after you listen.
